You meet these people and you want to get to know them better and spend time, but you just can't.
Close to 15 years later, fans still have fond memories of the pair who defined young love and made matching denim-on-denim looks iconic on the red carpet.
Most recently, the pair expressed the possibility of collaborating on new music together.
But the alleged Durst/Spears dalliance remains a curious sidenote in both artists' careers.
